     That's the exact opposite of how you find a good instance. If the instance doesn't have lots of racism and anime girls, it's gay and you need to go elsewhere.

     * Read the instance's stated policies and see if hate speech is explicitly prohibited. If it's not, time to move.
     * Read the local timeline.
     * Follow your admins/moderators and see what they have to say.

     What they think of the Fediblock hashtag can be a good litmus test. If they dismiss it, time to move.

     @freakazoid @thomholwerda is there an easy way to figure this out? usually when i block a server it’s because the server is pretty broadly and obviously for folks who explicitly want to spew hate, but then you get instances like this where it seems plausible there are perfectly normal folks oblivious to the nastiness…
