      She did get bullied and harassed and there's archived posts proving this. The intrinsic link between the trans community and politics is also going to lead to some interesting situations and it kinda already is; there's infighting in twitter between trans people who hated the harassment and others who feel there are no bad tactics and only care about getting results. This will intensify because it will happen again.

So people are remembering that and getting even more mad at this situation. Then the timing on the announcement makes any attempt to say it was pre-planned sound like damage control. Thus, the absolute shitshow occuring.
