Two of the guys who got laid off from my department got equivalent jobs in 2-4 weeks lol. I’ve been applying to jobs for like 4 months and haven’t even gotten an interview. I outperformed both when they were working with me. The job market is so hostile to Whites it’s unreal.

depends on what sort of training you do, standard progression is 1-2 years of broke then a couple years of instructing — $25-35 an hour but low hours until you can land a 135 or 121 job
-
@d0c40r0 That’s harsh. Is it possible to work another job in the beginning?
-
flight takes a fair amount of study and a fair bit of money
I highly recommend it as long as you have a clear end goal and you stick with it, otherwise it’s a lot of money down the drain for nothing

@d0c40r0 I was actually planning to ask you about it. I have a chunk of savings, but I’m not in great position to not make money for a long time. I can do school. I don’t like it, but I can do it. How long do I have to suck up not making money/being broke if I were to do it?

I forget how bad it is, like everyone I know is going through it too. It didn't used to be like this 😔

It used to be easier to find work than to find hookers. But yeah, #metoo. I got out in 2005. Is is now 2024. In that intervening 19 years, I was unemployed or grossly underemployed for 11 years. No Whites Allowed.

@BattleDwarfGimli @SK1ZM @Vulpes_Quartus 11 years? Fucking hell. I‘m wondering if I should go to flight school or something. It has to be something that truly filters nonwhites. Jeets are the new White collar class now. I think that’s pretty clear.

Fuck, I've been down that route. I had to keep switching careers and moving all around this godforsaken country trying to make it work, but in the end I've just got two degrees and $100k of debt I'll never pay off.
All I'm qualified to do is be a fucking janitor.

I'm in a similar boat, I'm getting laid off in a few months
-
Fuck bro, I feel for you. It's so bad for us. You may need to readjust your career path if this continues for too long.
-
@SK1ZM I have been seriously considering this. I’m still working, but my company is limping along. Very likely to be out of business this time next year, so I’ve been looking for another job. I survived the first round of layoffs, but there’s more coming for sure. I can’t even get my resume reviewed at a place I worked at before even after speaking with some director level people I am on good terms with.

if you can get a reasonable amount of multi engine (particularly twin turbo), part 135 jobs might take you once you’re at 500 hours total time
