   Hypothetical: a girl (White, 20’s, reasonably attractive) who you otherwise know little about, lets say she’s a coworker who you don’t work with on any particular projects or a friend of a friend at a social function, says that she’s very interested in ancient history and mythology. Would you consider this appealing or a red flag? Or another way to put it: would learning this make you want to get to know her (or if you’re single, date her) more, less, or the same as a girl that says she likes The Office.

     @GoodBoyUV a peek behind the curtain: the hypothetical isn’t a hypothetical this happened to me. I asked chat because when she said it I felt myself going into fight or flight mode because I immediately assumed she liked it in really gay ways, like she read a Mary Beard book on Rome and imbibed the horrible progtard view of it or she likes mythology because the gods are all lgbt mixed race Hades tier bs, but I realized that ive never felt the same way learning a young woman is a basic bitch Netflix watcher, I just nod and smile and move on even though she is has a bad way of enjoying her thing too (explicitly as there are no good ways to enjoy The Office.) I am puzzling over this discrepancy in my emotions.

     @jimmybuffettfanaccount You're right, I figured nobody actually reads those books and they're just promoted for political reasons so leftist academics and journalists can all reference them in a self promoting cycle for giving credibility to their gay theories BUT if anyone does read them it would be libtard White women who actually give credence to the opinions of credentialed faggots and thus this is the most likely possibility if one were to find a woman into Rome or something.
     
     In which case, it would be worse than meeting a woman into The Office, because that's apolitical (in theory), whereas a woman into Rome for this kind of reason is distinctly in it to ruin it for everyone else with her shitty political opinions given to her by NPR or tumblr, and it's the most likely reason she'd be into it, as opposed to any genuine interest in thinking the military or aesthetics were cool like men are likely to be.

     @jimmybuffettfanaccount I would immediately assume it's a tranny, as I always do now when I hear of a 'woman' with hobbies held exclusively by men, until proven otherwise. If she's a real woman then I would assume some level of autsim or similar disorder which would make her more attractive because it means her social skills are as underdeveloped as mine and I have more of a chance (in theory, not at all in practice, all non-nomie womens tastes are just as bad as normie women).

     @jimmybuffettfanaccount @GoodBoyUV If a girl told me "I love reading stuff about rome" I would assume she's got some erotic fiction about man-twink love affairs in the golden age of rome".

     Girls never like things the way we like them, we'll never see even the same faves identically. Women fundamentally will not look at roman legions with the same wistfulness for honor and duty that you do.

     If it's non-sexual then I assume feminist trying to subvert or a nerdy girl who likes all the attention and special treatment she gets for being "the only girl into this here!"

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @GoodBoyUV girls liking things for different reasons than us isn’t always bad. My wife and I both enjoy watching old James Bond movies in different ways. I from a man’s perspective enjoy the stunts, the beautiful women, and the chauvinistic way Sean Connery treats women, and she from a woman’s perspective enjoys the chauvinistic way Sean Connery treats women.
