This is why 40k fails as a parody of fascism and authoritarianism.
- New Janny in Town likes this.

@Marakus yeah, alot of people were drawn to 40k for the aesthetics, especially those of us who grew up in the age of star trek, where the future was bright and shiny and clean. But the authors did intend it as an over the top parody of fascism, Christianity and Thatchers Britain.

@AlbinoMutant Quality was also good.
Also Man will equally enjoy playing as a noble crusader, against forces of evil, and as a forces of evil trying to wipe out humanity, because its a fucking game.

@AlbinoMutant Man liked warhammer because it used to be masculine and cool, not because it was grimdark. It wasnt even grimdark, it was punk in space.
And people started going into grimdark route because every mainstream fiction was hopeful and bright. (and warhammer stole a lot of grim darkness from all over the place)
None of it has anything to do with right wing ideology, other than being inherently aimed at Man.

@AlbinoMutant 40K reminds me of the late Western Roman empire. The point is not to search for salvation since it has been lost forever in the deep decline, the point is to bleed the enemy as much as possible. Whoever gets the most kill will be rewarded and death is the only salvation for the right.
