     This is just a post to myself but it would be awesome for someone to write a post-apocalyptic story where the end of the world was from horrific cryptids (skinwalkers, people who aren't really people, etc etc)

     The battle lines stagnated, cryptids have largely kept to the east coast to feed and breed off the eastern population

     The war was brutal but cryptids not smart enough to shift and imitate, their plans and traps fail more often than not

     People settle into their respective side, sporadic interactions with each other across the heavily mined DMZ

     But now strange stories surround weird symptoms, dead men appear

     (cryptid breeding program has borne fruit, they get better at imitating the form and speech of humanity)

     There's a sect of cryptids who love human culture more than their own, they're the underdogs fighting against their own militaristic communist leadership

     Hard bitten detective has to figure out who's who in town that's 1 pt wild west and 2 pts rainy mob town

     (actually the peaceful cryptids are just an operation to further steal territory by undermining human's desire for peace and diversity, it's all a ruse and they want to plant eggs in every last human brain because they're simple monsters)

     IDK I just fixed a drink this was supposed to be 3 lines

     wish we had more cryptid media other than wendigos. Mothman and jersey devil come to mind

     I rarely ever hear anyone talk about Mothman anymore, and Jersey Devil also seems to have fallen off.

     @Tactical @Dagnar @Erson @matty I can't think of a way to do cryptids well that isn't immediately passe from everyone else playing with the horror genre. Something fresh and interesting is tough when the enemy is so hamstrung.
