@SamBox9029 @Ronnie21093 @ninja8tyu a few of the areas are accurate to their IRL equivalents, it's really cool. The lion painting and bear statues are real things you can find around Pripyat.

@ninja8tyu @Ronnie21093 @SamBox9029 I didn't really "get" Stalker until I played Call of Pripyat, read a Roadside Picnic and watched the Tarkovsky film, and that sounds like a lot, but that's because it was.
In Stalker you navigate a landscape seemingly familiar but entirely alien, it's a metaphor for post-Soviet life and explains why everywhere east of France has a fascination with it.
Thanks to that thing that kicked off in 2022 a lot of people can't appreciate it for what it is anymore, and it's a shame.

@harbeau @Ronnie21093 @ninja8tyu Honestly the entire reason I even got STALKER was because its a game set in Chernobyl, albeit a fictional rendition.
Still found it to be an interesting worldspace to explore.
Chernobyl is one of my favorite subjects to read and learn about.

Completely unprovoked and unnecessary
Feels like his dislike for it is due to political reasons rather than anything that is actually wrong with the game (i.e a lot of the games systems being rough or graphics being grainy like oatmeal)

I like a lot of the fictional locations too like Radar and Pripyat-1 underpass
I especially like the cut CS rendition of Pripyat Underpass that got scrapped
