"It still surprises me how gamified these fighting actions are. We see the enemy on the screen with symbols and eliminate them, as in the good old strategy Red Alert, by pressing buttons on the tablet; we look at maps with arrows in telegram channels, check with video reviews of the front in real time. We will find out how they are doing there through a video on Tiktok.
And the basic one: you didn't make a video about your work — people didn't find out about it — you didn't receive humanitarian aid. Conditional donations.
I am sure that many at some level see the SMO as a big reality show, which is filmed in dozens of different military cameras. And young people probably associate what is happening with Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which also has kamikaze drones.
And at the same time, the fighting is real. Bravery during the assaults, the help of comrades in arms, the pain of loss and death. What remains real is what is most difficult to digitize. Therefore, the SMO on the Internet and in life are two parallel realities. If only you knew how much they don't overlap."- Kenny Blankenship and Weaf :jv::nv: like this.

The whole “fighting for democracy” thing makes them feel like there’s stakes, like it makes it acceptable for them to finally get on board and enthusiastically follow a team vs. team saga
