   hmmm... it's sort of like.
   if you made a funny webcomic about turning your mouse cursor into a :senko: senko. back when javascript only did that and made blinking under construction text.
   
   would it still be as funny today, now that javascript has changed somewhat?
   
   i think it would be less funny. so i think that spaceballs could seem less funny if star wars became sufficiently estranged and new connotations are created.

     Space Balls is just kind of a dumb movie, and not much to do with a failure to hold up over time: it's just kind of a dumb movie.

Like, in every dimension: he did the remasters that changed stuff, he did the prequels, I hear those sucked, then the new one with that kid and I hear those suck, too. The only thing he hasn't done yet is pulled a J.K. Rowling and said "Actually, Chewbacco was gay THE WHOLE TIME."
     
     (I don't know why anyone ever liked Star Wars; sure as hell isn't my thing.)

     I guess this "DaddyO" fellow is worried that a sequel to Space Balls will be ruined by his presence, it'll come out ridiculous, and rob the original Space Balls of its gravitas.
