   Guess what Im listening to on the test bench right now as we speak.
   
   The Kenwood KRC-1005 dual shaft AM/FM Cassette Player circa 1992ish.
   
   I want to build a box to mount it in and use it in the garage for the time being...with some 6x9s in carpeted boxes.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @EscapeVelo OP's post convinced me to find the old Sony radio my mother gave me several years ago
     
     CDX-GT210 from 2006. Still need to test it. I really want one of the old Sony XR series with a cassette deck built in, but either would look fine installed in my pre-OBD2 S10

     @EscapeVelo @WashedOutGundamPilot 90's discrete digital equipment is my favorite of all since I grew up with it, but I have a soft spot for tapes too
     
     All of these (save for the VCR and tape decks) have been in the family for older than I have been alive. I could fill several hellthreads full of detail on the work I've done and how I've integrated it all into my home theater setup
     
     The best part? It ALL works perfectly

     @Cocoa @EscapeVelo I made sure to get grandma's sweet old monitor setup - not sure why she had such a sweet kit but.....it's now locked away in my storage unit. Someday I'll set her up

     @Cocoa @EscapeVelo I miss my old system. I was at my parents the other day, using even those garish steros from the 00s is now a fun experience.

     I was trying to find a pic of those old alien speakers everyone loved in the ipod era too
