   It's amazing how many randos come out of the woodwork any time someone says something that isn't a raving review of Israel or its actions.
   
   For the record I don't have the mental capacity to give a shit about the conflict, but time and time again I see someone mention it and they get dogpiled for being "antisemitic" because they dared to speak badly about this one particular country.
   
   The only other place I've seen such fervent defense of a nation's actions by those who don't even *live* there is China (and the whole "don't live there" part can be questionable given the depth of their sock puppetry antics).
   
   Honorable mention to Scientology for perfecting this as well.

     @ganjajukes I have never seen any indication of chinese bot activity on the fediverse so I agree with you there. I'm not singling out China, I admitted everybody has them. I was just saying they are not special by NOT having anything. I'm trying to be careful to not badmouth China, I like Chinese people and dislike the jingo bullshit we pull in the USA about them. tbh I don't buy the Uyghur thing, China just doesn't fuck around when it comes to foreign influenced terrorism. Still, there are some very nationalistic Chinese people but it is only similar to rabid Israel support, Israel defense is much more aggressive, not least of which is it can do actual harm to you here, where China cannot.

     @ganjajukes @7666 50 cent army used to be actual people, years ago they would attack anywhere criticizing china that had a forum or comment section. Now they just operate botnets that boost random things until activated. (america, russia, everybody has propaganda botnets too.) the old 50 cent army was hilariously inept and only possible when china wasn't blocking most of the internet yet. botnets don't even directly have to convince normal people, they just exist to game trending algorithms for the actual propaganda

     @7666@comp.lain.la Well, Israelis are trying to justify an ongoing genocide, so they're pretty aggressive about it, they call it "hasbara". As far as the defense of China keep in mind the allegations being launched at them are pretty ridiculous and inflammatory, China is being slandered by the Falun Gong, they're as bad as Scientologists. Plus ETIM and Mike Pompeo and the rest if the GOP. The USA has a lot of reasons to lie about China having 1.) slavery 2.) genocide 3.) ethnic cleansing 4.) a prison-industrial complex. It gives us something to deflect to when people criticize us for it.
     I just found this post from the global feed. China, Cuba, and Nicaragua are fun countries to defend. They deserve it. The slander is crazy.
