   @amerika Yeah. This is probably one of the few issues which makes sense to carry it through. Makes me wonder what could have been without McDonalds and the like moving in. I think cafes had better influence on where we ate out. Well, that and the fish and chip shop here. Fish and chips were so strong that during rationing it was made available. Now they are struggling to survive or merged with something else.

     Generally I distrust the norming/averaging of everything.
     
     If fish and chips is the local food... well... why bring in food from somewhere else?
     
     McDonalds is averaged food. They hammer any recipe into the same few ingredients and flavor profile.
     
     I like pizza and Taco Bell but it bothers me to see these in non-US places.
     
     Same way I dislike seeing signs in English in mainland Europe and Asia.
