   The irony was that I was raised by a Christian who had bad experiences with Christians her whole goddamn life, and never figured out she was the problem
   
   Not Jesus's fault, of course, except is the cosmic "why does god allow" sort of way
   
   But I'm almost 35 and I'm well aware that being a good Christian (or a saved Christian or whatever you want to call it) would not be enough to make me successful or even sane in the real world

     ... and, like I just mentioned, that's the same reason why I'm not too interested in Buddhism either, and why I'm not knocking on the door of the mosque five blocks down (I live in California)
