EmmyNoether (emmynoether@spinster.xyz)'s status on Thursday, 23-Feb-2023 07:58:19 JST EmmyNoether @caekislove @okuu Funny you should say that. I posted the following earlier today, a propos of the BBC’s coverage of Kate Forbes’ candidacy for leader of the SNP.
I was cross with the BBC news this morning. It was all “Forbes is against gay marriage.” No, she said she would have voted against, and her private belief is that it is wrong, but she accepts that other people have different beliefs, and she would respect both those beliefs and the law.
That’s classical liberalism (in the good sense, before it got corrupted by the numpties who use it to mean “liberal means anyone who can tick off every single one of our required list of mantras and everyone else is.a.literal.fascist”).
