@Hoss “Hard work” is a psyop
-
@Hoss @suquili I kind of disagree.
3 elements to success are: working hard, "working smart", and taking risks.
Improving any of the elements will (on average) result in better outcomes (although you can take things too far - work too hard, be too smart about things, and take dumb risks)
A good example of this was a Google employee who said he loved working there because he only did 3 hours of work and then used the rest of his time on his side project.
If you you are 10/10 on working hard and 0/10 on "working smart" and taking risks, then you're going to have a bad time. But if you're 5/10 for all of them and you go to 7/10 for working hard, then things will likely improve.

"Work hard and you'll find success" hasn't been true for at least 110 years.
-
@billiam @suquili @Hoss you forgot one, luck. If you don't have a good environment to work in, those will be useless.
-
@MK2boogaloo @suquili @Hoss lol, I was just thinking of editing the post to add luck and timing, but those are not really factors you can control
-
@MK2boogaloo @suquili @Hoss also on average luck will even out. So if you put in more effort you will see some results on average
