     @TrevorGoodchild I don't know much about the video game industry but in the film industry I've mentioned before that the problem for executives trying to revert to the 2010 savepoint - or better yet the 2001 savepoint when Fellowship of the Ring knocked it out of the park - is that the studios' entire creative staff and most independent production companies consist of nothing but hard leftist fanatics.
     
     To fix Disney, for example, you'd have to fire almost everyone hired after 2012 or so. Lucasfilm is actually easier because the legacy people from Lucas' days are still around and you could rebuild from that core. Or even hire George back to run it.
     
     Video games... no idea how bad it is or how deep the rot goes.

     @judgedread @TrevorGoodchild Depends greatly on the studio but it's also compounded with horrifically bad management in general that has seen every single Western studio (and increasingly Jap ones as well) rot from the inside out before any POZ even entered the equation
     
     Ubisoft, for example, was trash long before they decided their new feudal Japan Assassins Creed game should star a black man
     
     Even gutting the studios and inviting old talent back would probably produce little result given that these guys often made solid gold 20+ years ago.
     
     A 60 year old man isn't going to know how to appeal to over caffeinated zoomers who just want the latest FotM twitch bait slop
