   yeah but look at the package list for the DVDs (or USB image, I think they make a 16GB USB image now)

   The list is given in order of popularity, that's actually what decides what goes on the disk. It's packages in descending order of popularity until they run out of room.

   Open the list, ctrl+f for things you think might not be there because they're niche or whatever. look how high they are on the list.

     @p @0 @r000t @tinfoil-hat For me, it's apt purge vim vim-common vim-tiny && apt install nano && ln -s $(which nano) /usr/bin/vi && ln -s $(which nano) /usr/bin/vim.

     Anyway, I usually use ed if I'm not using acme. Or both, sometimes if I'm using the shell in an acme window, I will use ed to edit a file.

     @maestro @0 @p @r000t @tinfoil-hat I don't particularly hate it by itself, just the fact that it's included in every fresh installation of any distro instead of some sane editor. I had to use cat <<EOF on an offline machine because of that.
