(If you’re wondering why the repository was 176MB to begin with, it’s because I was initially deploying from the /dist folder in the repository. But since then I created a special deployment site for Kitten and now Kittens come from, well, where else but https://kittens.small-web.org.)
:kitten: 💕
PS. It takes me ~3.5 seconds to build and deploy a new version of Kitten so its common for there to be multiple new versions in a day. Run `kitten update` to get the latest.
You can now update (upgrade or downgrade) Kitten using:
kitten update [API version]
This will update Kitten to the latest publicly-available version on https://kittens.small-web.org or, if the optional API version argument is passed, to the latest publicly-available version for that version of the Kitten API.
You can also downgrade to a publicly-available version if you have a more recent development build installed.

w00t! 🥳 Soon, Kitten installations should be at least ~2.5× faster¹ as they’re moving from a shallow git clone on Codeberg to the download and extraction of an optimised .tar.xz distribution from the new Kitten distribution site at https://kittens.small-web.org :)
:kitten: 💕
¹ In a recent test on my machine: installation time was reduced from 2.13 seconds to 0.84879 seconds.
Yay, https://kittens.small-web.org is now live! 🥳
That’s going to be where Kitten¹ distributions are served from (previously, they were shallow cloned straight from the Kitten git repository’s distribution folder).
There’s no distribution there right now and I have to update Kitten itself to deploy to it/use it during installation but it’s a step forward :)
The Kittens site itself, of course, is built using Kitten².
