I am hear to tell you that kids are not *that* expensive. There are a million programs with free stuff for anyone who will take it and there are always ways to get baby stuff from people. Have a social network. Grow a social network - more easily done than you think because mommies love talking
Where it gets spendy is in *luxuries*. We have always fed the kids good quality food, and that goes up in price all the time for sure (big eye opener for me when milk skyrocketed in price during QE, totally radicalized me), but the main thing that become unaffordable are *luxuries*
(Yeah, there are conversations to be had about vehicle considerations constraining family size but that's like kid three territory)
