   A lot of people overestimate the efficacy of armor. Sure, the projectile may be stopped by the armor but the inertia is still carried through. It’s real easy to do the big sleep if you get struck in the dome with 00 buckshot regardless of whether or not the projectile is caught by the armor.

   If you get shot with a .308 in the chest at close range, wearing level 4 armor, you’re probably still going to end up with at the bare minimum a few fractured ribs.
