   @wgiwf @Leaflord @Riamu @synapsid On the east coast, maybe. You guys always act like america was made for cities when we have a century of spoke & hub development for wagon trains and rail lines out west. Most of the country’s land mass was never really given to huge metro development, there was no need for it unless you had to be near the coast for industry. Everywhere else people spread out.

   It’s not like we were all huddled in the shadow of multistory buildings until the Model T let us move, there were entire towns built around the trickle of economic flow from travelers passing through. Every time I’ve looked down I see a whole lot of the country looks more like this than the city. It’s just a racial thing, there’s a subtype of american who’s always been given to this kind of life, and another that hates it.

   Even when things were nigger-free my ancestors took a look around with a grimace and said “yeah….this is cool and all but we’re gonna head on out. Have fun with this city livin’”
