I mean I'm literally adjacent to that community; but the thing is the same shit happens there.
There's a cycle of "look at this new art site to replace shit art site", it gets users for a month and it dies off. It's been going on a lot less lately after the rise of Twitter for two reasons. The first is that every artist would rather use Twitter looking for exposure, and the second is that with the furry fandom being the first community to successfully be torn down and rebuilt in the image of wokeness (which was too easy), they now tear down any attempts at starting a FurAffinity clone.
Case in point, there was a furry art site that crashed and burned (literally ran on fucking XenForo and then Misskey no this is not a joke) and within a few weeks/months the announcements tab was this hilarious juxtaposition. Two virtue signaling messages next to some policy caving into the "drawings have rights" crowd on Twitter (who was arguing that this was not enough either). It's even more hilarious for that reason.
Essentially a new art site would have to not be run by furries.
