@elftummy @DrRyanSkelton I told her I've been checked out of dating for a bit (until career in order) so I wasn't really into dating a girl who can't cook, doesn't really clean, and doesn't do much make my life quantifiably better. I had joked about how she's closer to a housecat than a girlfriend, in that she fulfilled all the same duties as one- sitting, napping, lookin' cute, and being nice to pet.
I was heading outside the state again, and we'd been dating for a couple weeks, and I kinda figured "what the hell, I'm not getting any younger, I have few assets in my temp home, why not try things with this girl until I move?" So I leveled with her her and said "so I'm not looking to fill the girlfriend position, but I do have an opening for a housecat if you're interested."
Since then I haven't really changed that evaluation. She only somewhat cooks, does some cleaning, but mostly just hangs around the house and helps out with things. Plus I still jokingly call her all kinds of cat things and she's got a hairband with some kitty ears on it, too.
I worry I'll call her "girlfriend" sometime and it'll go to her head
