Ramsay makes her come back in. Alan is still eating. The chef asks why she left. She attacks, calling him a bully. He points out they have been through 109 chefs. The husband stops her from arguing, while Gordon and the chef exchange knowing looks.
So, Alan is Australian. He gives Ramsay a book he wrote and tells him a story about his father and how his father tried to force him to stay in Australia and work in his restaurant, but "he met a wonderful girl in New York" and left anyway. I'd sure love to meet that girl.
Then says he doesn't like his father because of what he did and it's hard to forgive him. Curiously, he doesn't mention how he took $250K from his own son and forced him to work in the restaurant (and kept him out of the legal papers, so he's not even an owner).
