@NathanielHigger1488 Not gay, but still pathological. The fetishization of the tomboy is a symptom of being a manchild, not of being gay.
The courtship of a woman is unfamiliar, so they want a woman who is socialized in more familiar, and therefore approachable way. "I want a girl I can bro out with!". There is also a nostalgic appeal, a lot of boy's proto-romantic encounters were with tomboys, and such encounters tend to be much less nasty or intense as the more complex relationships of adolescents and adults. Finally, there is an element of the relinquishment of control, most women expect you to act a certain way, to be decisive, make decisions, clean your room, take a shower, but not this fantastical Amazon. you don't have to met society's roles for a man at all, she'll love you unconditionally.
The tomboy gf is the omniwoman saviour fantasy of very lonely men who want one person to fulfill all of their needs and desires with minimal effort on their part.
picrel is an intentionally atrocious example
