   @beardalaxy @beardalaxy On the Metal Gear games released for NES, due to Konami's localization standards at the time, English packaging and manuals replaced Big Boss's roles as the player character's commanding officer, the main antagonist of the first game, with Commander South and Colonel Vermon CaTaffy respectively.
   
   Ultimately Big Boss appears as the final enemy in the game but the changes listed above were done just for the sake of changing things.
