   I will say "unsubscribe" if she gets too in the weeds about the people stories. It needs to be someone I've met, or will meet in order for me to listen to the intricacies.

   It helps if you think about your wife like.....the majordomo of the court. She's presenting her berries (information) to you because that's her haul. You bring home food (money) from your hunt in the wilderness (desk job), and she wants to greet you with the fruits of her labor (gossip, social intrigue).

   Just pretend she's your court's spymaster, updating you on the intrigues of the kingdom so you may keep your throne.
