   While I’m talking about stupid ass nietzsche books, you shouldn’t be allowed to read these until you have a few years of living experience doing hard, shitty, suffering work of some sort.

   Boys have no business wasting their time reading philosophy until they’ve been through SOME sort of life trial. Once you’ve spent a year or two working on a rig, or pulling traps on a grab boat in the frigid winter, even gotten a deployment under your belt, then you can start fagging around with navel-gazing shit about the nature of life.

   But kids who’ve spent life in comfort, who’ve never known bone-creaking pain, never felt the gnawing pain of multi-day hunger, never been uncomfortable for a straight week solid - they have no basis to make use of any philosophy. It’s undigestible fiber to the unready.
