   @Eiregoat @WashedOutGundamPilot @eee I believe this is a Hamilton prop but they all work the same, the mechanism operates using pressurized engine oil which is injected through the center of the propeller shaft and into that round bulb at the center. the oil presses on a piston which changes the pitch of the blades which allows the engine to operate at a constant rpm
   
   if that prop pitch mechanism is seized up that oil pressure will build up and apparently push the entire prop assembly off the spline.
