   I've had the argument with more pilots than riflemen, too. Maybe it's my friends who did sign up, but I don't see any sparkle on someone who brags about being an 11B. That GI-worship bullshit is running on fumes, upheld by the boomers because of the holocaustianist programming.

   When I see a guy endlessly bragging about how he was a REAL COMBAT MOS I see someone too friggin stupid to negotiate a better deal out of uncle sam, a guy who's too dumb to do anything but eke out a living working at gun stores and "training" programs, and guy who just can't be MORE than the rifleman badge he earned at 19 years old.

   It's much cooler to offhandedly mention it when you're in a totally different line of work:

   "yeah, actually we bagged an F16 in one of our exercises with the stinger, it was hilarious"

   "wait, what?"

   "oh yeah I was a ranger a long time ago."

   "holy shit no wonder you're a doctor now"
