photo through microscope of components (chips, capacitors) and traces of a black pcb. there's a via in the middle of the photo whose drill hole is not where it belongs.

   today while fixing some MNT Reform Camera PCBs that didn't pass QA i encountered something i hadn't before: the via you can see in the middle of the photos has a drill hole which is offset to the north. this faulty via then connects two traces in the inner layers of the board, shorting them.
