   the way that i got this to work is extremely hacky btw. i'm on debian and i downloaded and extracted the blender-2.7-es2-2.79b binary package from manjaro, and checked for missing libraries with `ldd blender-2.7 | grep "not found"`. then i just clobbered together the missing libs from various rpms and tars i found with pkgs.org, and set a local LD_LIBRARY_PATH, until all deps were satisfied.
