The funny thing is that built in LED's SHOULD be better as they have the entire fixture to place components and dissipate heat but they lower the quality so bad they fail fast
that being said we have a number of clip on LED reading lights, some dating back to 2018 that work great, only one failed and that was because my SON ripped it apart and lost half of it before I could solder it together again
