@Paultron Airbus sees you as an automation overseer, to the point they get rid of the yoke in favor of a tiny little sidestick. See, you need that because they want your lap free for opening manuals, holding clipboards, doing paperwork, etc. You're a bureaucrat, not a pilot.
Those sticks aren't even connected to your controls, it's all electronic. Meanwhile (I assume this is still true for the modern MAX because guys are STILL studying their hydraulics at work) that Boeing yoke is directly connected to the pinions, joints, and pumps required to directly move your controls. You have direct and clear sensations when you're flying it by hand. You can account for stiff winds and really grease her on in because every sensation it returns to your hands is real.
