   If this gay balloon is REALLY at 60,000 (I’d expect more, with some variation. 60k strikes me as a machine-limited reading more than accurate alt) then it’s right about the advertised (probably fantasy, just like saying a 2005 mustang still has 305 hp after this long) ceiling for most of our planes. And they’re old. And worn out. And not really accustomed to making a 1.5 hour climb to see how high they can get.

   So, you’re galloping along in an F15 with greatly diminished maneuverability, trying to hit a target that’s going 1/200th of your speed, riding the edge of your performance envelope (bc you’re trying to go as slow as you can while retaining enough lift to stay aloft - oh, and you’re probalby underfueled and underloaded, gotta minimize drag)
