I have always been frustrated by the lack of consensus on how to emphasize flat text.

Is it:

I am NOT gonna take it anymore?

or

I am *not* gonna take it anymore?

or

I am _not_ gonna take it anymore?

Caps kinda work in the example above, because I'm shouting.

They not so good when you're just being emphatic, as in:

Crossing by covered wagon took six months. Today, we can fly across in six HOURS.

What do you use?

I no longer care if Israel's slaughter of innocent people is on purpose or by accident. Even if it is all accidental, it all looks the same as if it were on purpose.

If it is on purpose, Netanyahu and his commanders are criminals, and must be stopped.

If it is by accident, Netanyahu and his commanders are incompetent, and must be stopped.

Either way, they must be stopped.

Writing to my federal officials today: no more aid to Israel.

Yeah, same. Funny how anyone whose first contact with you includes some version of, "you probably don't want to follow me" turns out to be the one piece of good advice they ever have for you.
