I love when Youtube recommends me videos about weapons like "best self defense ammo". Do I have the face of a murderer or someone who wants to take lives? Fuck off you and your stupid weapons.

@vivi@misskey.bubbletea.dev There are non-lethal ways to deal with idiots that do not require guns. I've researched a lot into this stuff. Self made zappers, flashing in their eyes with a strong light, sharp objects that are not long enough to reach critical organs, etc. There is no need to use a gun unless they pull a gun first, at which point you might be dead anyways. And the fact is, if everyone has a gun, the chances of having someone go nuts for whatever reason increases per person owning a gun.

Plus, even if it's self defense, I don't think I could live with the weight of having taken someone's life. I understand the fact that there is terrible people out there. I, in fact, know it myself. But I don't go there thinking about clipping people.

Besides, there are punishments worse than death if I really wanted to take it on someone... but that's another story.

A lot of people talks about the old times being "simpler". And I keep asking... what's the necessity for this complexity? Is it really making things any better?

I get that some things are more convenient. But I learn over the years that convenience doesn't necessarily mean being better.
