   I love when Youtube recommends me videos about weapons like "best self defense ammo". Do I have the face of a murderer or someone who wants to take lives? Fuck off you and your stupid weapons.

     The right to bear arms is for more mature people to make these decisions for you sensitive snowflakes.

     @vivi@misskey.bubbletea.dev There are non-lethal ways to deal with idiots that do not require guns. I've researched a lot into this stuff. Self made zappers, flashing in their eyes with a strong light, sharp objects that are not long enough to reach critical organs, etc. There is no need to use a gun unless they pull a gun first, at which point you might be dead anyways. And the fact is, if everyone has a gun, the chances of having someone go nuts for whatever reason increases per person owning a gun.
     
     Plus, even if it's self defense, I don't think I could live with the weight of having taken someone's life. I understand the fact that there is terrible people out there. I, in fact, know it myself. But I don't go there thinking about clipping people.
     
     Besides, there are punishments worse than death if I really wanted to take it on someone... but that's another story.

     @enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be thats not what these videos are for though :sadcat: i had regular run ins with creeps over the years, but one time, after a few ones happening right after each other i got scared ended up researching self defense in case shit really went south :swordcry: and non of the other possible options (pepper spray, stun guns, knives, etc) will help someone as well as a gun, if used correctly
     
     it's scary so it deters attackers really effectively without shooting. and if shot it will put you in the least amount of risk (due to being a ranged weapon) and it will be the most likely to stop said attacker, no matter how much weaker the shooter is compared to their attacker (which is usually a lot for me and most other women)
