(I’m on the cusp of implementing a higher-level class-based, event-driven, and composable component model for Kitten that’s also compatible with – and leads naturally on from – the traditional/easy to get started with function-based routes and components workflow. It’s been challenging not being able to focus for the past month. Fingers crossed things should speed up now that we’re back at home for a while and hopefully as the antibiotics kick in.)

Was away for about a month, first on a week-long holiday in Sardinia (it was lovely and the first proper holiday we had in three years), then to Cyprus for my dad’s 80th, and then finally to the UK for Laura’s sister’s wedding. Caught a lovely bug during the last one (tests say it’s not COVID) that’s been kicking my ass a bit but now on antibiotics and feeling a bit more lucid today. Very much looking forward to getting back into things and taking Kitten, Domain, and Place over the finish line.

@projectmoon @arkd We have a lot of money. Sadly, most of it is being spent on killing machines to murder Brown people on the other side of the world. Making screen readers free would be a rounding error in public spending.

@unexpectedteapot Was originally doing that but Codeberg is not reliable enough and can be very slow at times. Apart from this hiccup this setup has been blazingly fast and also allows me greater control :)

Apologies if you’ve been unable to install Kitten* recently. Looks like there were a huge number of sessions created in a very short period of time, exhausting the memory on the tiny VPS server that serves the binaries. Might be AI crawlers (thanks, asshats). Looking into it and will add checks to session persistence to try and try and handle these sorts of attacks (because, really, that’s what they are) going forward.
