I think I've decided. Between this instance running like crap and not feeling safe either here or on any of the competently ran instances I'll be leaving Mastodon.

Apparently I can't load VT Social from the Inochi2D account, yet it loads fine for this account, apps don't work either.

Maybe even add a small partitioning tool in there so you can decide to create extra ext4 partitions if you desire.

How I would fix asahi’s installation flow would be to make an actual graphical installer, ship an app in a DMG which allows beginning the install as well as remove Asahi.

Create a secondary mini app which graphically guides the user through setting up their install after the reboot. Maybe use Swift for it or smth

The average person who just wants to get XYZ done is not a massive nerd and you can assume they don’t know and don’t care about the internals of your tool, they just want to get stuff done. That’s why making good UX is so important.

Though with how many people in open source developing user facing software with themselves in mind, garbage ux is a given.

To be fair it does take a lot of work to do things right.

Was wiping my Mac mini earlier this morning so that I could get a clean slate after homebrew messing up my compilation environment. Also wiped Asahi Linux as it was a broken install anyways.

Forgot you’re supposed to use the terminal to delete the partitions; but overall the UX of installing and removing Asahi Linux is just… a jankfest. Not that I have time to fix it.

It’s a kind of a shitty memory now but, I’m still alive and happier. So things ended up working out for me in the end.

Just ended up thinking about this because I noticed the scar again while feeding Ponko this morning. Back then, when my friend brought me home and helped me sterilise and bandage my arm; Ponko proceeded to bite me, then curl up to a ball in my lap.

I think she knew what was up.

I’ll be more open and honest on here for the time being, at least until I get told to pack up and move to another instance.

I ended up cutting quite deep and probably hit a nerve, so the scars have kind of become whisker shaped darkening on my left arm

It’s only a few months ago I gave my brother and irl friend my passwords so they could let people know if my suicide attempt succeeded.

So much have changed in such a short time, but I’m starting to think that the scars on my arm are going to be a permanent fixture… I feel like an idiot in hindsight.

Had a nightmare last night where I was stuck in a space station with a lovecraftian horror creation that grew on the walls. Touching it ended up being unavoidable and as I did my entire body felt as if it was burning, as I slowly sunk in to the substance, while screaming in pain until my lungs were absorbed and I couldn't scream anymore.

I was still in pain for a minute or 2 after waking up
