While the last boss sounds a lot like the Judgement
My confusion came from the fact that male royal figures can act as both. I can easily imagine an old, dull emperor acting as a last boss. I can also easily imagine an old, dull emperor acting like this king of yours.

In many stories (star wars), the "last boss" figure is also a kind of damzel in distress AND and old, dull king, all at the same time. Yes, I am talking about your father.
