@cstross @jappel I thought the Notebooks were super cool when I was a teenager, but even then I remember doing some soul-searching about the author’s toxic politics. Now of course it’s easy to recognize it as part of the fans-are-slans, Galt’s-Gulch, hear-the-lamentation-of-the-women philosophies that Heinlein and so many of his generation drew from.
