if you want to compose music learn classical and some jazz piano, get a daw or use musescore, and just make music. Or just use ai and make all of these faggots seethe. dont fucking go to music college unless you want to be told that wypipo are bad and that you need to suck nigger dick.

@lain I think that that is due to an ever changing philosophy of best practices in musical performance. In the western classical tradition the best practices change every generation. For years, Glenn Gould's performances of Bach were the gold standard. Even though they were all played on an instrument that did not exists in Bach's time. Now, more time period authentic performances are appreciated. People going as far as to prefer instruments from that time period. Soon enough a new philosophy will dominate how classical music is played and interpreted.
I'd argue that there are at least a few covers that surpass the originals. "Hurt" by NiN is a perfect example where Trent Renzor acknowledged Johnny Cash's version as superior.
As much as I hate the idea of subjectivism, there is a level of subjectiveness in music. One thing sounds good to one person, another thing sounds good to another person. -

@coolboymew I am writing in a document that is formatted like a novel. So word count is probably a better indication of progress. I know that I was at about ~25,000 words maybe some time a day or two at the beginning of resuming writing.
Hard to tell. I had some of Part 4 that I had started, but I deleted it all to start with a creatively blank slate.
Sometimes a writers best friend are the words, "Some time later."
Then again, it could be 20,000 words of pure shit that I have put to paper. -

A year ago I stopped writing my book at page 85. Before I decided to resume writing late last week, I had no clue of where to take these characters and what to do with them.
A week and 88 pages later, I am confident of the material and plan that will make up the middle portion of this tale.
However, looking at the current word and page count I am not sure this story can be contained in one book.
I have begun Part Six, but am tempted to work on cleaning up everything that I already written and starting a new volume.
Cleaning up spelling and grammar, which are my worst skills (and I thought it was a good idea to write a book). Cleaning up plot holes and stiff language. Redacting excessive bits of prose.
To the two people who might be sadistic enough to read my rough work, please be patient. I am trying to make my story as good as it can be. I might spend a few days fine tooth combing everything more than once.
Then again, it's all just for fun. Just a short little trip to a completely uninspired bit of escapist fantasy. Nothing original, nothing meaningful, just a goofy story to pass time. Just...
