    sex shop in german just means they sell toys, porn, etc.
    they are pretty big here for historic reasons. like they are as normal as supermarkets

    prostitution is explicitly forbidden for the job center to use as a job offer.

    sex shops are a grey area.

    to quote the politician in charge for the institution overseeing the job center:

    "Der Unterbreitung von Vermittlungsvorschlägen im Handel und Vertrieb erotischer Waren steht grundsätzlich nichts entgegen. Zum Schutz der individuellen Persönlichkeitsrechte ist allerdings auch in diesen Fällen sensibel vorzugehen. Dementsprechend empfiehlt die Bundesagentur für Arbeit, derartige Vermittlungsvorschläge ohne Rechtsfolgenbelehrung zu versehen, so dass eine Arbeitsablehnung in diesem Bereich sanktionslos bleibt."

    "In principle, there is nothing to prevent the submission of placement proposals in the trade and distribution of erotic goods. However, in order to protect individual personal rights, these cases must also be handled sensitively. Accordingly, the Federal Employment Agency recommends that such placement proposals be provided without instructions on the legal consequences, so that a refusal to work in this case area remains sanctioned (without sanctions, deepl sucks here)."

    @lain tbh i still dont get it. i feel like my side job gives me much more status.

    i actually work in a field that i like, with people who have a life and payment which makes me able to study.

    only pro argument i get from students i ask is that they dont actually work most of the (paid) time.
