    @coolboymew @kaia @chjara yeah it works great. i tried to focus on low effort stuff. though for induction stove this doesnt count because they function very similar anyway. than just use the water cooker if u need hot water and the stove if u are cooking.


    big loss using a water cooker is pouring the water into the pot. but for ceramic hobs or even older tech it is more efficient to use it nonetheless

    @kaia @chjara @coolboymew also in general about electricity: effency numbers sound always bad. because every way of storage or change of the power (here electricity into a field and back to electricity) is extremely inefficient. everything up to 100% more consumption for an extra battery inbetween is normal.

    good example imo is solar. good panels are ~22% efficiency. i think there are some special ones with up to 25% or so.

    solar panels with 5-10% efficiency are still in demand and used because "they look nice" or they have some other nice attributes. like being flexible or so.

    if u wanna save energy with very low effort:

    turn off ur tv and pc if u dont use it
    turn stuff completely off automatically if u dont use it
    dont open the fridge/freezer unnecessarily (roughly 3s open door means it will work 5 min to offset the heat)
    use a water cooking device to cook water instead of a pot, even if u put it in a pot afterwards to cook food. it is more efficient and faster (unless u have an induction stove)

    phones are very weak regarding the sending/receiving power and thats why the other sender/receiver has to be much much more powerfull

    charging with induction roughly need 50% more energy.

    so instead of 35.2kwh per phone per year total it is a wasteful, sinful, detestable
    36.85 kwh per phone per year

    think of the children!

    @lain mhh every educated debatte i listened to about climate, covid restrictions or economic foo was like that. either we have very different sources/information habits or im missing something

    with educated i exclude all tv talkshows, most active politicians, etc...

    but thats what most good authors, scientists and courts do

    freiwilligen dienste haben dan nauch das problem unmotivierte leute beschäftigen zu muessen. die meisten brauchen aber dringend motivierte leidenschaftliche leute.

    man könnte den anreiz für ein freiwilliges jahr auch einfach erhöhen. letztes mal als ich das geprüft hab waren das 300€ im monat oder so. für vollzeit arbeit.... (zuzüglich lebenskosten falls man so wie ich im ausland war, also hab da deutlich mehr bekommen, aber in de bekommen die meist nichts extra weil "die können ja bei ihren eltern wohnen")
