@ringo im starting with the presumption of a modern scientific worldview here. I'm a Christian, so how this plays into creation and the future kingdom of heaven is all hypothetical to me.
Fermi Paradox is not a paradox. Large scale travel at anywhere close to the speed of light is impossible. There will never be communication between solar systems. Travel between solar systems is ludicrously impractical. We will never see an alien. The closest will we come is perhaps some creature with a portion of our DNA will keep one in a specimen jar one day.
@charliebrownau@C_J_S@aosinski I'm not saying Australia is multi-cultural. It's most certainly not. It has a culture, and that culture is born of Britian. But we do not have as strong a claim to national heritage as the motherland does. The argument to what degree we should be racial homogenous is debatable. I would like to see MUCH tighter restrictions, but I don't think we can claim 100% purity. It's not possible, that ship has sailed.
@aosinski Refugees have special status immigrants do not. Because if they get sent back, they will likely die. If a refugee voluntarily leaves their host country, they are no longer a refugee. They are an immigrant. They are taking advantage of special status they do not deserve.
@C_J_S@aosinski If a refugee from Sudan can legitimately integrate into Australian society and prove they can become a useful citizen despite the odds, I'm willing to pay that. I don't think countries like the UK should though, because they have national history that we do not.
Child of the lunar ashes. Capable of meeting the minimum requirements for living in a society. My namesake did nothing wrong. When you outlaw freedom, only outlaws will be free.
