@TonyStark similar thing happened a long time ago with the automobile industry vs rail in Puerto Rico (1950-60’s I believe). Once upon a time PR had an incredible railway that travelled almost the circumference of the island, legend has it that the Ford company petitioned the government to stop supporting the rail line in exchange for new roads (which they decided not to maintain, and then put tolls on). Same story, different vehicle. Now PR has around 10km of active rail track.
