1/ Indicting a former President is going to have some interesting repercussions. It represents a major sea change in how this country works, if indeed it does work.

You have to understand how these people think...

They don't believe people get arrested for breaking the law. They believe people get arrested because they have no power.

The only reason Presidents and Senators etc... don't go to jail all the time, is because everyone on both sides agrees not to use their power that way.

2/ They don't think anyone on EITHER side believes "going to jail" has anything to do with "breaking the law."

So they see this move as a breaking of the covenant. "We all agreed not to send each other to jail. That only happens to poor people."

They assume whoever's in power could just decide to send their enemies to jail, and laws will be found that they will have broken. "What am I accused of" is just a formality to them.

You might ask them "well, didn't he break the law?"

4/ YOU might think "well, he broke the law, he should go to jail" but they assume whoever you VOTED for agrees with them, not you.

It's only you, the voter, the hapless citizen, who believes jail and punishment and fines have anything to do with the law, or guilt.

They believe the Rule of Law means the people who Rule get to use the Laws.

If you doubt, look at intent.

The laws you and I might break? Those are written so that "ignorance of the law is no excuse."

3/ The answer? "What does that have to do with anything?"

They believe everyone is breaking the law all the time, that the law is just a convenient fiction to be used whenever you want to put other people away.

And they think it's right and proper that this only works on people with no power. People WITH power do NOT go to jail, because that's the purpose of having power.

That's it, right there. From the very beginning, it's been about finding something, anything to charge Trump with. The "What" never mattered.

No one ever threatened their power as Trump has. In fact, no one even knew about their power obsession, and the lengths they were willing to go to maintain that power until Trump came along. And so for that he must pay.

It was just leaked to Yahoo that Donald Trump is being indicted with 34 Class E felonies. Leaking a grand jury disclosure also happens to be a Class E felony in New York punishable by up to a year in jail.

People in the Manhattan DA’s office are literally committing crimes while charging Trump with fake crimes.
