@HyperboreanWave @dubbub @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @Elliptica @plotinus_enjoyer @BowsacNoodle So why did the German officer observe that 50% of the Soviet's trucks were American made? It's quite clear the Soviets poor quality trucks were lost in vast numbers so they had to rely on American ones.

Even if the Soviets had the trucks, they still needed American fuel for the offensive. You can cope all you want but Lend-Lease supplies won Stalingrad. I haven't even gotten into Lend-Lease tanks yet.

@dubbub @HyperboreanWave @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @Elliptica @plotinus_enjoyer @BowsacNoodle I used to think the same thing, but after reading more about the Eastern Front and the Lend Lease program it becomes obvious that the Soviet Union had no chance without Allied; mostly American, help. Without American aid the Soviets would have been reduced to an infantry army operating from beyond the Ural mountains. For just one example, without American trucks and oil the Soviets would have not be able to conduct large scale offensive maneuvers like Operation Uranus. Meaning the 6th Germany army would have not been encircled. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Uranus

China has not been a communist country since the 1980s. As for why do better than India it's because the Chinese have a much higher average IQ than the Indians.
