it only was in the first place to feed the ego of the guy who claims credit for inventing it and it continues to be because it enables mass surveillance on which corporations profit

the issues with AI almost entirely stem from mass ignorance among who is funding it and who is most loudly advocating for it that is intentionally perpetuated by the people selling it

too many people in both groups think that machine learning algorithms are in any way comparable to human capacity for creativity, belief, and decision-making @.@

between this and crypto, it would seem that techbro scam culture gets kind of absurd as crypto-“anarchists” push toward becoming the new ruling class
